BetterPaste does not collect, transmit, or store any of your data on our systems. Everything the app records stays on your Mac.

Nothing. BetterPaste has no analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting service, no advertising identifiers, and no user accounts. We do not know how many times you have opened the app, what you have copied, or whether you are using it at all.
BetterPaste records the items you copy so that it can offer them back to you later. This history is written to storage on your own Mac, inside the application's sandboxed container. It is not uploaded anywhere, and it is not accessible to us under any circumstances.
History is kept for a period of time that you set, after which items are discarded automatically. You can also clear the history at any time from within the app, and it is removed entirely when you uninstall BetterPaste.
BetterPaste records whatever you copy. It does not attempt to distinguish sensitive material from ordinary material, so if you copy a password, an account number, or anything else you would rather not have retained, it will be held in your local history until it ages out of your retention window.
Two things follow from that. If you routinely copy sensitive material, consider setting a short retention window. And if you copy something sensitive and want it gone right away, clear your history from within the app — it is stored only on your machine, so clearing it there removes it completely.
BetterPaste does not connect to the internet in the course of normal use. It has no sync service and no backend.
We do not share data with third parties, because we do not have any of your data to share. BetterPaste includes no third-party SDKs, trackers, or advertising libraries.
If you purchase or download BetterPaste through the App Store, Apple handles that transaction under its own privacy policy and may provide us with aggregate sales and download statistics. That information comes from Apple, is not tied to your identity, and is not gathered by the app.
BetterPaste is not directed at children, and since it collects no data, it collects no data from children.
Privacy regulations such as the GDPR and the CCPA give you rights to access, correct, and delete personal data that a company holds about you. We hold none, so there is nothing for us to produce or erase. The clipboard history on your own device is under your control at all times, and you can delete it from within the app.
If BetterPaste ever changes in a way that affects this policy, we will update this page and revise the date above before the change ships. We do not intend to begin collecting data.
